Why are my transactions not showing up?

Try clicking "Sync Now" — SheetLink syncs manually, so new transactions won't appear until you sync. If the sync button is greyed out, check that your bank is still connected on the Bank tab. If your bank shows a red dot, it needs to be reconnected.

How do I connect a bank?

Open SheetLink (Chrome extension or Excel Add-in), go to the Bank tab, and click "Add Bank." You'll be prompted to connect via Plaid — search for your institution, enter your credentials directly in Plaid's secure window, and authorize the connection. SheetLink never sees your bank username or password.

Question 3

My bank connection shows a red dot. What does that mean?

Accepted Answer

A red dot means the connection to your bank has expired or needs re-authorization — this is common after a bank password change or MFA update. Go to the Bank tab, click the three dots next to the bank, and select "Reconnect." You'll go through Plaid again to restore access.

Question 4

I upgraded but the add-in still shows the upgrade prompt.

Switch tabs inside the add-in (e.g. tap Bank then back to Home) — this triggers a tier refresh. If it still shows after that, sign out and sign back in. Your subscription is tied to the Google account you used at checkout, so make sure you're signed in with the same email.

Does SheetLink store my transactions?

No. SheetLink is a pass-through — transaction data flows from Plaid to your spreadsheet in under a second and is never stored on our servers. We only store encrypted Plaid access tokens and your Google user ID. See our Privacy Policy for the full breakdown.

Can I use SheetLink on both Google Sheets and Excel?

Yes, with a Pro or MAX subscription. The Chrome extension writes to Google Sheets. The Excel Add-in (available at sheetlink.app/excel/) writes to your active Excel workbook. Both use the same account and bank connections.

What does MAX add on top of Pro?

MAX adds API key access, the sheetlink CLI for unattended cron-scheduled syncs, output to Postgres, SQLite, JSON, and CSV, and Claude AI integration for conversational queries on your transaction data. Everything in Pro is included.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Accepted Answer

Email support@sheetlink.app with the subject "Cancel subscription" and the email address on your account. We'll process it within one business day. You'll retain access until the end of your current billing period.

Question 9

I accidentally deleted my Transactions tab. Is my data gone?

Accepted Answer

Yes — SheetLink writes data to your spreadsheet but doesn't keep a copy. If you've deleted the tab, that data is gone. Your next sync will create a fresh Transactions tab with new data from your connected banks. We recommend keeping a backup copy of your sheet.
