When to choose SheetLink over Finta
You live in spreadsheets
SheetLink is built for Google Sheets and Excel, with an add-in that runs inside Excel on Windows, Mac and the web. Finta doesn’t support Excel.
You want Claude without a stored copy
Finta’s docs say connecting an AI tool to its MCP server, or creating an API key, turns on Storage Mode, which keeps a copy of your financial data. SheetLink’s MCP server on Max fetches your data when you ask, and SheetLink keeps no copy.
You want to start free and pay less
SheetLink’s Free plan connects one bank and syncs your last 7 days. Pro is $4.99 a month or $39.99 a year for every bank, against Finta Standard at $7 a month or $70 a year.
When Finta might be the right fit
Your system lives in Notion, Airtable or Coda
If your finances live in a Notion or Airtable workspace, Finta sends data there directly. SheetLink doesn’t.
You run a business on Stripe or Mercury
Finta connects Stripe and Mercury directly, next to your bank feeds, and covers European banks through GoCardless.
Why on-demand sync?
SheetLink never reaches into your bank on a schedule you didn’t set. Pressing Sync now before your weekly or monthly review gives the same result as a sync that runs on its own, with no background access in between.
Questions
What is the main difference between SheetLink and Finta?
Finta syncs bank, Stripe and Mercury data to Notion, Airtable, Coda and Google Sheets, with AI categorization, timed by your bank’s provider. SheetLink focuses on Google Sheets and Excel: it writes your transactions into the sheet or workbook you choose when you press Sync now, and has a free tier.
How much does Finta cost?
Finta Standard is $7 a month or $70 a year for up to 10 bank connections, and Pro is $15 a month or $150 a year with no cap on bank connections, after a 7-day trial. SheetLink is free for one bank; Pro is $4.99 a month or $39.99 a year for every bank you connect. Prices checked October 7, 2026.
Does Finta store my transactions?
By default Finta passes data through to your destinations. Its Storage Mode keeps a copy of your accounts, transactions and holdings, and Finta’s docs say connecting an AI tool to its MCP server or creating an API key turns Storage Mode on. SheetLink doesn’t store your transactions, and its MCP server for Claude fetches your data when you ask, without SheetLink keeping a copy.
Does Finta work with Excel?
No. Finta’s destinations are Notion, Airtable, Coda and Google Sheets. SheetLink has an Excel add-in for Windows, Mac and the web, included with Pro and Max.
